Ellen B's Army Afghan

Ellen B sent me these great pictures of her finished Army Afghan.  Didn't she do a great job!

She crocheted the white background in afghan stitch and then cross stitched the design on top. She added the words "THIS HE'LL DEFEND" with embroidery.

If you would like to have a free copy of the chart to make this afghan email me at crochetparfaitpg@yahoo.com and I will send you a copy (ask for either excel, png or pdf format.)

Continents in Living Color!

Ever since I made my Globe Pillow pattern and then gave it to my son, my daughter's best friend has been complaining that my son got the world and he doesn't deserve it.  My daughter says she brings it up once a week and how cool it would look with each country in a different color and labeled.  Well it's not quite big enough (34 3/4 inches diameter at the Equator) to do all the colors, so instead I did each continent in a different color and labeled them by sewing on ribbon.  I recommend using the thinnest ribbon you can find, it's easier to fit in the smaller places.

I had a lot of colors of Lily Sugar'n Cream Cotton Yarn, so that's what I used, but you can use any worsted weight yarn.

If you would like to make the Globe Pillow with the different color continents email me at crochetparfaitpg@yahoo.com and I will send you the chart.  I have it in Excel, png and pdf file formats.  Here is a link on how to crochet the Globe Pillow Chart.
